Automations let the Suresign agent repeat tasks for you. Instead of manually reminding signers or checking what expires soon, you tell the agent how often to do it, and it runs on schedule. Every automation appears on its own card before it acts, so you always see what is happening.
Automations are available on Pro and Business plans only.

Types of automations

There are five kinds of automations you can set up: Every automation runs in your own time zone, so the schedule never drifts when you travel.

How to set one up

1

Open the Automations tab

Go to the Agent page in the sidebar, then click Automations.
2

Choose the type

Pick what you want the agent to do: chase signers, warn before expiry, send a summary, send a copy, or set a personal reminder.
3

Set the schedule

Choose how often it runs. For example: every 3 days, a day before expiry, or every Monday at 9:00. Weekly summary and chase automations can run daily or on a specific weekday. Reminders run once on the date you choose.
4

Review the card

The agent shows you a card describing exactly what it will do and when. Read it to confirm it matches what you want.
5

Approve or let it run

By default, the agent asks for your approval before the first run. On Business plans, an admin can allow chase and expiry automations to run on their own without asking each time.

Who can do what

If your role in the workspace changes to one that cannot send reminders or extend documents, the agent pauses your automation automatically and tells you why.

What happens when an automation fails

If an automation fails three times in a row, the agent pauses it automatically. You will see a notice in the run history. You can check what went wrong, fix it, and start the automation again. One-off reminders that fail are retried a few minutes later instead of being paused right away. If they still fail, they are paused and you get a notice.
Only reminders and extensions can run without your approval, and only where a workspace admin has allowed it. The agent cannot send a new document or invite someone without you pressing the button first.

Example: chase a late signer

Imagine you sent a consulting agreement to Alex Chen and Priya Shah. Priya signed, but Alex has not. You set an automation to chase unsigned every 3 days. The agent sends Alex a polite reminder every 3 days until he signs or the document expires. You see each reminder in Needs you before it goes out.
